What other experience do you have in the wine/restaurant industry?

20 years in Restaurant Management/Consulting. 20 plus years of wine study.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Relationships, competition, continuing education, teaching something I love.

What is the best tasting event you have ever done?

Blind tasting of all of the 2016 Chianti Classicos at the Consortium in Rada Italy with the head of the Board Mr. Meneti and my friend Count Sebastiano Cappone.

What was your 'light bulb' wine experience?

Making wine in the basement with my grandpa when I was a boy.

What was the best wine you ever received as a gift?

1997 Jamet Cote-Rotie, my last gift from my brother, I love you and miss you Marcus Maher.

What is your favorite wine region? What do you love about it?

Very difficult answer - Italy, I am second generation Italian and Italian wine has always been apart of my life. From the beautiful whites of Alto Adige to the elegance and power of Piedmonte, to the romance and diversity of Tuscany - tough to beat.

What is your favorite wine and food pairing?

Venison & Rabbit Cassoulet with Roasted Red Cabbage, Spaetzle and finished with a Foie Gras Cream Sauce and 1997 Jamet Cote-Rotie.

What is one place in the world you would love to visit (not for wine)? OR What is your favorite vacation spot?

Egypt, I’m a history fanatic and have not been yet.

Favorite Vacation spit is Massenutten Virginia in the Mountains.

What is your most random fact?

I’ve had my ponytail since I’ve been seven.
