What was your first vintage with Cutting Edge?

2005.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

When I wake up, I think to myself “my job does not suck” I could have sold anything for a living and I am lucky to sell wine let alone our portfolio! It’s such an upbeat industry. People love you to visit and it’s a never ending learning position.

WHAT WAS YOUR LIGHTBULB WINE EXPERIENCE?

I have had many in the past but this one is a fun one.

I was attending a Cutting Edge Christmas party at Mark and Steve’s house. The champagne was flowing non stop.

My champagne glass was empty and Steve Maher said let me fill that for you. He poured it out of the champagne bottle and I took a sip and spit it out so fast it projected across the patio! He thought he’d trick me with Cava in the bottle.

From this day, I can hardly drink Cava. It has a burnt rubber taste that takes me back to that moment.

WHAT ARE THREE BRANDS THAT EVERY GREAT RESTAURANT OR WINE SHOP SHOULD DEFINITELY CARRY?

Bodegas Muga because it’s a classic Spanish wine.

An Oregon Pinot Noir. St. Innocent , Elk Cove, or even Mount Eden from California.

Grayson Cellars, because if you’re going to have a glasspour that overdelivers for the price, you’d be hard-pressed to beat Grayson!

WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL WAY TO SPEND A DAY OFF?

Providing all my chores are done and I can relax.  Being home, gardening and having lunch or dinner with my family. I love to cook so it’s a pleasure to be able to have wine and good food at home.
